Hi

We are looking at buying a full awning and wondered what everyone uses on the floor. We've used a standard plastic one in our trailer tent but we're considering buying a breatheable one this time.

Do they leak when it rains?

Any good/bad points?

What make do you recommend?

Thanks

Julie

Hi Julie

We originally had the type which has small open squares in it. Last year it rained for days and the main problem we had was with worm casts coming up through the holes and therefore piles of mud everywhere. This year we changed to a Kampa groundsheet. It is breathable, lightweight and excellent. We used it in France on quite a muddy pitch and it stayed dry, no mud and just swept clean. Would highly recommend one. They are a very good price too.

Hi Julie, in answer to your post most sites do prefer that you use a breathable ground sheet as its saves the grass on site

I cant comment on the Kampa ground sheet, if there awning is anything to go by it should be good.

Sorry to add another question. What groundsheet to people use on hardstanding sites. Thanks
Hi Nicola

We had a hardstanding recently which was quite stony so we didn't bother, would have made holes all over a plastic one.
