There is a master switch which will turn everything off.

Unfortunately the master switch does NOT switch everything off in most caravans. Stupid calling it a master switch.
My Bailey master switch turns everything off except the interior fridge light. The radio has no live separate feed.
But it must have a live feed to work? So where does it get its power from?
When the master switch is turned on.
Note there is no separate live feed other than the switched one

So in other words if you dont switch off the master switch then you have 12v to the radio at all times? Isnt that what it is like in every other caravan?

Correct.
But some are wired with an extra live feed to retain the memory.
As Sir W C says the Master Switch doesn't always turn everything off.

When i switch our 12v off everything is off.
I recently fitted a 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter into the van due to my wife using medical equipment through the night, I have wired it through a 40amp relay to ensure that we don't have any battery drainage when we are not there. By fitting the relay this also allowed me to fit a switch local to where i have put the inverter, so if there is another power cut in the middle of the night when the wife is over at the van and it goes off i won't get a phone call at home in the middle of the night.... ;)

My master switch switches everything off as well, i have a ammeter fitted and that stays at zero.
My radio has 2 x 12v connections but both are disabled via the master switch or even when the cars connected as this cuts all power to the van.
I fitted the rocker switch as i didnt want it consuming power when off grid.
