On my 1994 Swift Corniche 15/2 there is a circular two-pin fitting located just below the access door of the Thetford Cassette Toilet. (Electric Flush).

Do any of you have any idea what this fitting is for as I can find no mention of it in the handbook?

Many thx, Stuart.

p.s. many thx to all posters for your wealth of info, you've already helped this novice "vanner" no end.

Hi Stuart, The socket is for a submersible pump to fill the resevoir for your toilet, the pump came with the van when new, usually attached to a black hose.

Metz is correct Stuart, it is for a pump. It's not a particularly fast pump, so I wouldn't personally bother getting a new one if yours is missing. It's just as quick to use a bucket or large jug to fill your toilet reservoir.

Thinking again, do you have an on board tank. is the fill for that close to the socket as well?

Thx for the info guys and no, I won't be bothering looking for a pump. I've found that once I've filled the on-board water tank (or rather, when the pump starts to scream at me that the aqua-roll is nearly empty) there is enough water left in the A/roll for a good couple of days flushing and it's light enough to manhandle.

I learned a different use for the shower head method; when re-charging the cassette I put some Blue in it then add the required water from the shower head.

I have used the shower head for both jobs but the plastic watering can is quicker and if left under the corner of the van in our climate it soon fills up itself !
