I have a TOM TOM 700 and have just bought an update on the Western Europe and safety cameras plus downloaded from the web of camp sites in europe from a Dutch person called "Archies Snelweg camping". Now on the camping download it is for many sat navs but i only chose TOM TOM so is NAV COR a sat nav or is it something else.On the new W. Europe it say's a addition of 30000 klm of new roads but so far when i redone our intending holiday to the Vosges journey it no better than the old one, as for the safety camera it has missed out the one which has been there for years (A21), plus the poi although it agains say's much more on the campsites it seems the same as the old one. Any comments on these guys?.

Hi Robert,

I wonder if I could ask your advice please?

I have been considering buying the Safety Cameras and Tom Tom Traffic for my TT700, but am unsure when it mentions having to use a Mobie Phone. Does this mean I get billed whenever I receive any info via my TomTom?

Thanks in anticipation,

Phil

Hi Phil

I have always downloaded the "safety cameras" from the following www.pocketgpsworld.com. Tom Tom always want an annual subscription but you can download from pocket gps on a one off basis for about 2 squids. Tom Tom traffic as I understand it needs to pair with your mobile to connect to get the information so I think you will probably be billed for the call and maybe for downloading from Interweb

Hi Robert.

Reckon you followed my recommendation of campsite downloads for sat navs from Archie's website (http://www.archiescampings.eu) so glad you were successful. Definitely NOT scammers, Damian (Moderator) - it's a brilliant website containing campsites of all types all over Europe for download to all sat navs. Unsure where you've got 'NAV COR' from. Not on Archie's site, is it? Anyway, if you've successfully downloaded the TomTom co-ordinates; you can ignore the ones for Garmin, Navman etc.

Just thought I would correct an earlier inacurracy. The tomtom traffic function (on new tomtoms at least) use the info that is broadcast on the FM frequency. It does not use bluetooth and is completely free of charge.
