What is the lightest

Yes looks nice, but he is 68 year old and that looks more like a Pennine folding camper he had, he wants a van with more creature comforts and fixed bed. His tow car is only 1.6 diesel.

What's the budget? Eriba's are generally small and look cool, but quite expensive and generally quite heavy. Eriba 310 maybe?
Swift Basecamp 3, maybe. I'd vote for the Swift Alpine 4 and all its dealer derivatives. Lots around at every age and budget and MTPLM of 1300kg. That's what we chose, and really pleased with it.

Seems ot be a bit of bad press about the Basecamp, but that may be for the older models?

If it has to be the absolute lightest possible then maybe a 2-berth and leave the front permanently made as a bed, possibly with a "proper" mattress instead of using the re-arranged cushions? A decent awning would then give some daytime lounging space. Other than that I'd go as mentioned by someone else and look at the Sprite Alpine 4 range.

I have an Elddis 304 which has the double bed at that the front but needs to be made up. However, there is a dining area at the rear that can be made into a single bed and left up if you don't want to use the table that's there. There is another table included but stored in the wardrobe.

It comes in under 1200kg.
