Mines a Cairn Terrier, 4 years old. If anyone saw Crufts and Speedy last week she is identical in colour to him, although her coat hasn't been shaved. She always has a strip! No doubt I am now open to comments!!!

I've got a Lasa Apso & 2 Miniature Schnauzers, all bitches, and I love them to bits. When trying to describe a Miniature Schnauzer to someone who doesn't know what they look like, my better half points to me and says they look like him :O( They always go away with us in the van.

Can we all just take a break from doggy talk for a while please?

When we lost the last of three we vowed to not have any again, but you're not making it easy, peeps. So show a little consideration for those that dare not, ok?

You probably saw at Crufts those fantastic black-and-white agility, obedience and dancing dogs - border collies. Mine look just like them - but there, I'm afraid, the comparison ends, they must have been at the back of the queue when the brains were handed out. One was nicknamed 20 watts - very dim! But they're rescues and we love them dearly and they love the caravan life...so I suppose they can't be that daft??

we have a very pampered german shepherd who has just turned 7.

used to have 2 german shepherds at the same time, but sadly lost one couple of years ago.

no kids yet, so dog travels everywhere with us...enjoys any form of water activity, chasing cats, watching football on the tv (even searches for the goalkeeper in the video cabinet when he kicks the ball!).

I had Labs for years, but now I have Pepper he`s a border collie x show springer,a right handsome chap 8yrs, when he was six months old we decided to get a companion for him, phoned the local recue "Have you got a border cross" "Oh yes we`ve got Kattie" went to the kennel expecting big border collie x and there`s this thing on Queen Ann legs like a little black fox, well you can`t say no when she`s all over you, can you? so we now have the long and the short of it, take them every where in the van, love em to bits. and being crosses the`ve never ailed a thing from day one,

Almost 15 years ago, we rescued a Staffordhire Bull Terrier *****, who we called Tess. (Our first dog). An absolute chracter, loved by everyone, we were informed by all the Staffy people we came across that they live life to the full (absolutely agree) but don't make old bones, 10 is a good age. Well, she's got arthritis in her back legs and has kidney problems, she's on hormone pills for bladder weakness, but she is still so full of life (when she's awake!) We love her to bits, and she adores caravanning, first into the car as soon as we start to pack it. Enough!

One 11 year old German Shepard crossed with a Rough Collie and a 3 year Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

Both were rescue dogs, the former when his owner died. he spent a long time in kennels and thanks to the NCDL, now Dog Trust he is with us and by my feet as I type this. Incredably loyal and well behaved but he can be a bit of a b*gger with other dogs. Very much a one man dog.

The retriever looks like a flat coat crossed with a sheep. Great personality and came to us with a ruptured cruciate ligament that has "healed" but she still can go lame if we work her too hard, so we have to be careful. Chesapeake's were originaly a cross between a Newfoundland and a Retriever so love water and do not mind the cold. Fabulous red-gold waxy curly coat with a broad head and Amber eyes.

I really ought to do some agility training or similar with her because she is just so good already.

They both love the caravan and even when we are packing they want to be in and on their seats.

Caravanning without a dog or dogs? No - sorry - can't be done!!

Until recently we had 2 Great Danes, one Bullmastiff and one English Mastiff, sadly we lost the danes, not long lived dogs unfortunately, and have 2 Saluki/whippet Lurchers as replacements for them, both from rescue kennels.

They have put a new lease of life into the two Big Boys, and are excellent rabbit catchers.

The Bullmastiff is very placid most of the time, but hates Border Collies and Black Labs, the Mastiff is very timid, and does not like being the focus of attention, so will hide in bushes when he feels intimidated.

The two Lurchers are very friendly, but one likes to play "rough" and can be a bit over the top at times, so has to be watched quite closely at the moment, but we have only had these 2 dogs for 3 months, so they are still settling down and testing the limits of acceptance.

We own a kerry Blue Irish Terrier *****,coming up for 8 years old, for those who watched crufts would have seen a very proud male from Italy, showing his domination when trotting around in front of the judge,

ideal for caravanning as they do not shed there hair, never met another Kerry whilst traverling around the United kingdom.

Working / Field Spaniels.

My Dad always told us of the stories of Kerry Blues he walked as a boy, they wanted to fight every dog they saw. Have only seen ever seen two or three Kerry's over the years and each owner expressed that they were Lovely Lovely dogs except for one thing !!!!!

Just interested how yours is Royston. Dads family worked for land owners who had quite a few Kerrys and he ammused us as kids with his tales of the scraps HE and the dogs got into.

I will be seeing him in Hospital later today and over the weekend and it would be nice to tell hime a tale of a Kerry as threads to the old days are what seems to keep him happy.
