What would be the best type of mover for our caravan?

I asked previously about types of jack now it's movers.

I would like a mid range price one that does the job and is reliable!

Susan,

I would recommend the Powrwheel.

It may not be the cheapest but do your homework with comparable units and they will happily price match.

I am on my third unit and their after sales are second to none. I will say again, second to none.

On the rare occasion I have had a problem they have even sent an engineer to my site. Problem solved and zero quibbles!

Not the cheapest but well worth every penny as others on this forum will testify.

No, I am not connected to them in any way but I do appreciate a good company when one exists.

A friend of mine owns a caravan repair servicing business and he has recommended the Reich Mover which he is fitting to my Coachman Amara on Monday.

I have been reading peoples views on motor movers for some months now and I was undecided between the Powertouch, Truma and Reich. I have noticed that Powertouch has an amazing after sales service but I would rather have a reliable mover and not need to call for assistance.

I hope whichever one you choose you will enjoy the ease of parking your caravan.

Powrwheel! The customer service is second to none and the product is very reliable, use ours nesrly every weekend to get the van on and off a gravel drive, It has been faultless in the six years we have had it and it has been changed from one van to another. Currently on our Coachman Amara 560/6

Steve, if you want a reliable mover then definately DO NOT get the reich,i had powerwheel movers fitted to my previous coachman pastiche 520 and my coachman laser 520 i allso had one fitted to the ace twin axle i had for a short while, when i bought my coachman vip530 the dealer asked me to leave the powerwheel on the ace and he would fit me a new one to the coachman. he fitted a reich mover and its the absolutely rubbish.

the coachman 530/4 is a very similar weight to my old pastiche and the powerwheel had no problems getting the van up my drive (any of the vans) but the reich is appaling, it just gives up and trips out, i have to have my wife and my daughter pushing the van along with the mover to get the van up a simple dropped kirb on to my drive which allthough slopping is not too steep. its been back twice and both times reich's engineer has said the mover is working as it should, i guess its designed not to work then !.

another big problem with the reich is the mover is very low to the ground and the plastic covers are very brittle and break easily on even the lowest of speed bumps.

your friend wont be a friend for long if you have one of these awfull movers fitted. have a look round site and you will see the vast majority of movers are powerwheel that should be testiment in its self.
