could i safely tow with a Vaxhall Vectra 1800

at the moment i have an Avondale Quantock Leeda 2 berth

but i would like to get something slightlt bigger
 
I don't know what the MTPLM of your Avondale is but its unladen weight is around 825kg so the MTPLM in unlikely to be over 1100kg. This is within the limits of the Vectra 1.8.
 
You don't say whether your Vectra is a saloon/hatchback or an estate or whether it is manual or automatic or whether it is the current shape or the old model. Depending on which one, the maximum permissible towload can be anything between 1300kg and 1450kg.
