What Vehicle to Buy

We have £8000 to spend on a new vehicle. We currently tow a Swift Rapide 450 gxl, but will upgrage to a larger caravan in the future as this van is quite light. We would like to know what would be a good all round vehicle for day to day and towing requirements. We was thinking of a 2-3year old 2.0Dielsel Zafira but we think this is not much heavier than our current Astra.

I suggest you exclude the Zafira 2.0 litre diesel because this has a low maximum towing weight of around 1000 kg - and I think Lutz said this very low limit was because of insufficient engine cooling?

The newer Zafira 1.9 diesel (150 bhp) is the one to look out for - 1500 kg limit.
