Bought a ford modeo from a ford dealer, went to check the car today, they have put on a fixed witter bar when we had asked for a detachable. Do not know whether to keep it as it is or to change it for a detachable. Have checked the order and we had in fact ordered a detachable. Do you think that if they changed it over it would damage the electric.

If you ordered a detachable, and paid for a detachable, that is what you want, NOT what "they" think you want.
Tell them to put on what you ordered and paid for.
The electrics are a separate item and changing the tow bar should have no effect on them.

ford dealer has told us the car & detachable towbar will be ready for saturday but on thursday they want us to pay the remainder of the balance for the car by visa electron , never paid for a car 2 days before delivery , normally on the day we take delivery, what do you think...hasbo

Tricky one. Assuming you paid a deposit, then cannot see why you need to pay inadvance, although they are entitled to ask for some monies, if they are adding extra's ie the towbar.

just a thought,did you also specify that the electrics were to be wired up for the fridge and battery?
reason i ask is car dealers when fitting towbars only wire up the electrics for the lights unless told otherwise
i too have a mondeo,i bought it secondhand and the first owner had the towbar fitted when new but only the lights are wired up

As already said i presume that you have paid a deposit?
Pay on collection on Saturday,if company go Bankrupt on Friday you will have no car and no money.

If i asked for the 13 pin skt to be wired up would all electrics be done i.e the old 7n and 7s?

There was about £200 diffrence in tow bar for fixed or detachable for my car so i would say they owe you some money.
