Whats a long stay

We will stay 5 or 6 weeks at our main destination and be sorry to leave where others never stay in one place for more than a few days. It might be us slowing down but we seem to be collecting places we just cant bear to miss visiting each year. Returning to our favourites has the advantage of being able to settle in quickly knowing where everything is but it is leaving less time for new discoveries.
What is your idea of a long stay anywhere?

David,
4 weeks is our longest in one site and it was good because we had so much time to visit and discover the area. For similar reasons to you we too like to visit past places even when we are not taking the van, yet the list of places to visit does seem to grow disproportionately as the years pass. Must be an age thing!

We tend to be the more hitch and pitch caravanners.

The most we will stay in one place will be max 7 nights - usually it's about 4 or 5!

Our idea of a long stay, would be 10 nights, winter only!

We rarely stop anywhere less than one week otherwise I can't be arsed in putting the awning up despite it only being a Kampa Rally lightweight
smiley-smile.gif
When going away it's never less than two weeks at a time else I can't be arsed in hitching up
smiley-laughing.gif

BTW Wendy, how are you? Long time no see or should that be long time no read

Yes the awning is another reason to stay put, we only use it when staying for more than a week and use the fiamma the rest of the time.

We dont put up our awning (cut down Bradcot) unless we are staying more than a month. Like LB, can't be arsed.

a long stay for us is more than a week and allways put the awning up it takes literaly minuets to do.
although last year we stayed on one site 5 weeks and had to take down the awning so the owner could cut the grass "twice"
this year I am back to working so it's two weeks maximum again.

Now then my young Wendy. What's wrong with the Woosie Club?
smiley-kiss.gif

OK?
I know we're all head cases but we are also very affectionate dogs too.

LB doesn't qualify because his ,her indoors ,does all the donkey work on site and probably walks the two hounds whilst his Lordship slums it up in his super luxury Bailey. Her ladyship is also known to empty certain receptacles although I suspect his Lordship will deny such an event.
Well Wendy
We have a number of excellent ladies, who are ardent fans and founder members of the Woosie Club , so what's stopping you?? We have plenty of places and will welcome all Ladies at Stowfolot in May.

Would have liked to have joined in the May jaunts, however, with the impending arrival of a new grandchild at that time, our daughter would be none too chuffed at our absence!!

Like the "Lady" bit, though - haven't been called that for years! Lol

Although Her Ladyship has been known to walk the dogs on her own DD whilst I have a little rest or drinky poo's (pardon the pun) the next time she empties the khazi will be the first time

Because of this she might qualify for associate membership of the Woosie Club, but not full because she does use all the vans facilities. I'm afraid that me, having the emptying job, doesn't make me a wuss so I wouldn't qualify.
Wendy I know also uses all her vans facilities but somehow I would think that she, like my better half, leaves the dumping of the dumps to her chattel

hi all,
the previous posts on this thread and the ongoing woosie thread makes me laugh in a nice sort of way. as it brings back many memories of times past. there are a lot of woosies out there you know. and are not confined to this forum.
I can confirm this by experience and the looks one gets while emptying the canister. it is the lonely'est place even on a busy site.

even after a life time of work dealing with carnage and ills taking the lid off a full cesspit on a hot day is more than enough to turn the stomace of anyone even LB,
go one admit it everyones a bit of a woosie in certain circumstances, and IT'S a big round table.we have to fill.

You do have a point ya ol' tyke because during my time with the ambulance service one thing that was guaranteed to start me retching was poo's. Not the sight of it but once that smell hit my nasal receptors I was in pieces. Once I was working with a person who was equally as bad as me but I wont go into the tale on this forum but the relatives must have wondered what they had sent in reponse to their 999 call when both of us had our heads out of the bedroom window retching. Not nice and totally embarrassing
smiley-embarassed.gif

Even more embarrassing was they were really upper crust toffs and the patient was a REAL Lady
smiley-embarassed.gif

Anyway, I digress, back to the OP

I bet that when you first clapped eyes on you O/H and zing went the strings of your heart ( as the old song goes) you never in your wildest dreams imagined that one day you'd be lugging a plastic receptacle containing at least some of her number 2s across a muddy field in the rain one day, let alone emptying them into a cesspit

Hmmmm, I've never thought of it like that

I wonder if she truly appreciates what I put myself through just for her. When I pluck up enough courage I'm going to ask her

I must make sure the coast is clear for me to run or at least duck out of arms reach.
