Hi All

I have just taken delivery of new caravan and awning, really pleased with it all but for this one issue.

The wheel arch cover that was supplied with the awning is supplied with screw on press studs, not sure I want to put screws into my new plaything - yes I do mean the van.

Anyone got any ideas re alternative fixing methods.

Ta Muchly

You can stick Velcro to the 'van or, use rubber hooks (the sort off windscreen covers from pound shops are ideal)and put eyelets in the wheelarch cover.

Barking, if you fit screw in studs to the van it will immediately void any warranty on the van.

Use suction cups on the van as they do no damage, and although velcro is ok, after a very short time it becomes discoloured and looks awful

Hi Barking,

I carefully removed the studs from the wheel arch cover sheet with mole grips to leave clean holes. I push plastic suckers with hooks on onto the van and hang the cover on these. They will stick well providing the sides of your van are smooth.

Good luck,

Ron

I've just spent some time experimenting with different ways of doing this.

I have a bulldog clip at each end of the wheel cover, and hook the hook from a plastic sucker into the hole in the "handle" bit of the bulldog clip, so it hangs on the hook.

I notice Bailey actually sell a cover tailor made for their caravans, but it's about

Hi Barking

What make of caravan do you have?

Bailey have been making a special awning skirt wheel cover for the last 6 months which fits all new models in their range. There is a hidden trough around the wheel spat which allows the skirt to be fitted like an awning is in the awning rail.

I didn't believe the trough existed until my dealer showed me. Thus no need for any mechanical fittments.

Downside is the Bailey cover is a one off and cost me
