Wheel Balancing

Yes. If you get new tyres fitted then balancing should be done as a matter of course. You will be surprised at the size of the weights that can often be required.
We were having a nightmare with parts of the fire falling off every trip and the cutlery drawer above coming out.
Somebody suggested we have the wheels balanced so I took the van down to the nearest convenient tyre place. The fitter was very jolly and willing to take my money but poured scorn on the idea. In his view there could be no benefit to a towed trailer having its wheels balanced. Anyway he went through the process and at one stage remarked "bloody hell". I asked him if they were far out and his reply was "put it this way, if they had been on the car you would have been suffering with blurred vision."
Ever since, the fire has stayed intact and the drawer stays in!

IMO its yes as it prevents unnecessary shaking about of the van's structure etc.
The heavy walled, high load carrying tyres needed on caravans, relative to cars, always seem to require staggering amounts of balance weights. Thus the out of balance forces they would inflict on the caravan structure, the bearings and suspension are in my opinion best avoided for the few

Just had my caravan wheels balanced today, they added 50gms to one wheel and 20gms on the other.
My wife now tells me she will just leave the cups on the work top ready for a cuppa when we arrive.....!!
