You Could try Maplins or even a call into your local Aldi store and see if they have any left in the store room as they have just gone through for a tenner I think they were

I modified a camera tripod to hold my dish. you can usually get them off second hand stalls for a song. Also my local Aldi has some in at the moment for

Don't faff about converting washing lines or camera tripods, go onto ebay and buy the real thing for about

I am with VIP and Andrew. Buy the real thing - it needs to be sturdy to avoid movement when it it windy, but light in weight for transportation. You can position it anywhere on the pitch, and fix it firmly to the ground with three tent pegs (the 6 inch nail type). I have had mine for several years and long forgotten the cost!

I bought a ground spike (for a whirly washing line) from Lidl. Simply screw it into the ground and then fit the dish - never blows about however windy it gets. :)
