Which awning for a Bailey Ranger 550/6?

Hello

I have lined up a late 2006 Bailey Ranger 550/6 but need advice on suitable full awnings for this preferably with an annexe or interior tent for sleeping and storage. Is there one with an annexe to go on the (caravan's rear) side? Please indicate new and likely used prices. comments on storm strength and weight would be helpful!

With our 550/6 we had a Pyramid Tuscany that had an annexe which could be zipped into either the front or the rear. It is not the RR of awnings but good enough that we again purchased a Pyramid with our new 620/6 though this time it's a Corsican model. New price for the Tuscany was about

Hi we also have a bailey ranger 550/6 and our awning is a bradcot classic which we bought 2nd hand at a very reasonable price... I believe the cost new would be about

We have the same van, It's brilliant when there's only two of us.

We bought a 'N R Awnings' Executive. It's done three seasons and we have no complaints. There range has all the options.

Were just starting our 4th season with the Ranger 550/6 and agree its a great van. We went for it rather than the Pageant and spent the saving on an Isabella awning. We do not regret it - we paid approx

We have a eurovent with a bedroom annexe its not the cheapest nor is it the most expensive but if you are unlucky enough to have to replace the awning after a few years the annexe will still fit as eurovent dont change the pattern of their zips as other manufacturers do from time to time. hope this helps

Hi

We bought a dorema awning for our Pageant Bretangue, same year as yours. The annex can go either side. There are 2 types of annex, one is taller than the other, we have the taller annex. Its our second Dorema awning, change due to change of caravan. Awning has been used several times since July 2006, no complaints. Annex not used yet but were pleased with its use previously. Dorema did a good repair when annex was damaged in storms a few years ago.

Do check web sites, we saved money by buying on line, Wauby's were very competative, helpful and good delivery times. Also had good service from Wandaholme who arranged for our annex to be repaired by Dorema a few years ago.

Hope this helps

Annette

Thanks for all the advice. I have been offered a 2006 Isabella Commodore Alpha with breathable carpet. It is a bit expensive and doesn't have a tall annexe. Anyone have one of these awnings and could recommend. Anyone have a tall annexe and inner tent for sale?

Hi Silly Billy, just make sure it's an acrylic awning well worth the extra money, the NR are good value, and the Rialto available from Towsure also, you can fit an annex on either side as long as the sides zip off but beware if fitting the annex to the rearside of the van as some pitches don't allow for this also other vans could be pitched to close.

Darryl.
