Looking at getting a gas BBQ. There are a few around but which one to go for? Quite like the look of the Cadac Carri range from the like of Towsure etc.

Gareth,

I have a Cadac as well, can't really see myself without it, it is a blokes caravanning toy. Went away Easter, cooked a lovely Spag bol on it...

Easy to clean as well.

Cheers

Rob.

We would agree - look at a Cadac. they aren't cheap, although you can often get a good deal on the internet. We have the roastong tray as well - it is great to have the smell of roasting meat wafting across the site!

Hi Folks

Another vote for the O-Grill from me.

I looked at the Cadac and the smaller foldable Weber the 120 i think it was.I went for this and dont regret it.It folds neatly, cleans easily and still looks new after 2 hard summers away.

Regards

Sean

Cadec for me any day. Love it! Make sure you get the model with the lid, as this helps keep cooking time down. Bacon in the morning is one of our favourites.

We use a Webber Q100 grill both home and away. Gives us the option of using small gas canisters or the larger gas bottles we have in the caravan. I believe you can also buy a connector so you can hook it up to the supply on your caravan, although we don't have an outlet so we just use the small gas canisters when we are away.

Hi

we have a cadac - good piece of kit used it loads over Easter break. It is a bit heavy weight wise so we carry it in the boot of the car

Must be only me who is disapointed with Cadac then. I bought one 12 months ago & after 1 weekends use the ignitor failed. Got it replaced & after 2 weekends & a 2 week holiday using it the main burner actually melted. So i'm now on my 3rd one & while I agree that the hotplate is superb for frying bacon, eggs & sausage etc I find the BBQ plate & deflector almost impossible to clean - so much so that I am put off using it.

Well..... anyway sometimes good deals on line and also at shows

Great bit of kit - but I find it very difficult to clean the BBQ plate and deflector - is there a special technique to cleaning?
