Hi I'm looking for a decent hoover for caravan as we need to clean before coming home due to having to put the van back into storage as soon as we are home. I've been looking at the hand held ones but was just wondering which was worth buying as know some will be better than others. Any recommendations greatly recieved.

personally i would not go the hand held route, a friend of mine had one of the all singing and dancing dyson hand helds and to be honest it was great for the first 2 minuites then the battery started to die and it became useless most hand helds are the same in that they are ok for the odd spill but not for a full clean.

we had a cracker that was made by electrolux, i got it from qvc about 5 year ago, it was light weight bagless upright and folded very small. it was a fine piece of kit but unfortunately gave up the gost last time we used it. you can still get an electrolux light weight but the price has gone through the roof now, last time i saw one it was over

Thanks I'd heard that the dyson one wasn't very good, I've had a look at the pro action one in argos never even though about getting a cylinder one but I'll definately be thinking about it as need a powerful one for the grass! Just had a week in Cornwall and never seen so much grass being brought into the caravan.

I bought an Electrolux Z61A Corded Handheld vacuum cleaner (Argos 48.99). This has proved to be ideal - small and powerful with 3 options - suction with brush action, suction without brush action or tube with nozzle suction. See http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4062958/Trail/searchtext%3EELECTROLUX.htm or http://www.electrolux.co.uk/node38.aspx?productId=25722

Don't even think about the Dyson over priced last six minutes then needs charging, biggest mistake we have made this year buying this over priced unit.
