Hi Everyone

Happy New Year!

Can someone give me some top tips on which porch awning I should buy? I want something that's a little larger than a loo-tent but assembles in ten minutes.

Any pointers?

Merci

Mac

Hi Mac

Happy New Year to you

We are new to caravanning and bought a Swift Challenger 400 in September. We bought a porch awning which is a bit bigger than average as we didn't want a loo-tent either and hubby didn't want one with loads of poles that would take ages to assemble, we tried it out and it is a good size with plenty of room to put a table and chairs in if you wanted to sit out and didn't take long for us as newbies to put up. It is a Romany Porch XL 400 by Quest Leisure which I found on ebay.

I hope I haven't waffled on too much and this helps

Hi Mac

Our current porch awning is a NR Conistun lux. It is larger than a porch awning and has had upto 6 people and 2 dogs in it comfortably. We have the alloy poles which are virtually lightweight and we have the awning up in about 15 minutes including pegging ! The awning has been up in gale force winds and unlike our full awning it didnt move all night.

Hope this helps

Mark Mac,

You refer to wanting a very small porch awning and having just researched and purchased one I note that there are lots available. The light weight ripstop nylon models with whippy carbon fibre poles made by Sunncamp and others may suit.

Just one comment though which may help, we intended to buy a very small porch but when we really thought things through we realised that rather than something to accommodate just dirty shoes and damp coats we would like it to be big enough for 2 chairs and a small table, so the requirement grew.

Then we realised that even on one night stops the 15 year old plus friend would rather sleep in the awning to chat about girlie things, so the requirement grew a little further.

We ended up with a Sunncamp Ultima 260 (

I had this dilemma a few weeks ago.

I think I'm going to go for an Outdoor Revolution Easi porch - they're really easy to put up - and can be done on your own, apparently.
