As a family of 4 - 2 small children included - we have decided to try caravanning. Before taking this decision we bought a Zafira diesel elegance. We now really love the car but it is poor in terms of what it can tow (having a MPTLM of 1050kg!). We want to stick with a Zafira so are happy to change to another model but want to increase our options on what we can tow?? Help!

You don't say whether you are only looking at the old Zafira or also the new model but the towloads of the new diesel are considerably higher (between 1300kg for the 120hp manual and 1500kg for the 150hp). As far as the old Zafira is concerned, a 2.2 petrol would be a good alternative (1400kg), or the 2.0 turbo (1500kg towload).
