Who does What?

Over the years when arriving on or leaving site, we have developed our own jobs.

I.e. anything outside from locks, water, waste, awning etc. seams to be mine, anything inside tends to belong to the better half.

However, this is mostly ok during the summer but when its raining I always find it pretty unfair lol.

So to ask - Who does what?

Plus any jobs you particularly don't like doing, i.e. toilet waste which no one in the family will touch, so I have no option, plus again its on the outside so obviously becomes my job lol.

Cheers
John

Sounds like our 'arrangement'. I do the outside and get wet whilst OH sorts out the inside (that's why I never know where anything is stored inside ;) )

We are newbies to caravanning and only been out once so far this year, this sounds very familiar to what happened when we got to and left the site.

On arrival I do the steadies and the water, he does the electric gas and toilet. I do the inside. We both do the awning. On leaving we both take the awning down. Then he does the outside while I stow the inside. He does the toilet. If there any instructions about anything to be shouted, this is my job. Similarly accusation and recrimination for anything forgotten. If there is any apologising to be done, that is his job. Think we have it covered. ;)

Hi there - this is our 3rd year caravanning and we follow pretty much the same - my OH does all the outside jobs and I do all the inside jobs - although I do need help with putting up the bunting as I'm not that tall! We find this works best, I'll offer help with the awning but as an ex Naval man he's better off on his own and will shout for assistance rather than me loiter and get in the way. He's very good at getting wet and dirty and he's the one who empties the toilet tank. I will fetch and carry water too. My main job is to keep the inside of the van and awning looking as homely as possible and to put things away where OH has no idea where they are    lol.

Looks like standard practice, the outside is mine, the dry bit inside is hers, but hers does include that most important of jobs, putting the kettle on.

Come on fellas, you know we do most of it!! - Most eating, most beer drinking, most wine, most tea /coffee drinking, most whisky demolition, most barbecuing most 'gassing' at the tap, or loo emptying, (now that seems to be a place out of bounds to the other ½). Most washing up. You name it we have to do it!

Now what do the others do? A bit of pan/kettle boiling? -- What else?
;)

Hi Gabsgrandad. I wonder if you will share the method by which you can print figures as fractions, as in your
"now that seems to be a place out of bounds to the other ½"

½ ¼ When I am back home I will put up a few that I have marked down on here.

Holding down Alt key and pressing 171 gives you ½ and Alt 172 gives you ¼
Hope this gives you a bit more info.

½ ¼,
Thanks for that as well. But only works on my number lock part of PC keyboard, not the top row of numbers, will have to try it on laptop where there is only the top row lower case numbers.

Yes, yes, yes. For me, that's the answer too, Gabsgrandad. Very useful stuff, because it's surprising how often a fraction is needed. Thank you, Gabsgrandad and thank you Trevor.

I'm the outsider. SWMBO does the inside. Awning wise she holds the centre pole and I do the rest. This avoids the domestics.
While I am on hands and knees driving in pegs and sat dish she walks the dogs and fills the aquariums.
Then I make the super human sacrifice and take the dogs to the nearest hostelry for a beer a day crisps.
This all after I have spent days cleaning and loading up at home. I don' the do the ironing

Like most of the guys, I do the outside jobs and Herself takes care of the inside, putting stuff in cupboards and the wardrobe and making sure that the beer is in the fridge after I've plugged in the ehu.
In addition to my lowering the steadies, filling the aquaroll and emptying grey water and the toilet cassette I'm also chief holder up of the duvet cover while we do the pulling inside out bit to fit it to the duvet, holder up of fixed bed mattress while Herself fits the bottom sheet and of course breakfast chef for the cooked breakfast that we only ever have in the caravan, no wonder I'm cream crackered when we come home
