Why go to Tuscany?

Our friends say we should take the caravan to Tuscany but we're not yet convinced. We've been to the Dolomites, L Garda, L Orta, L Maggiore and L Lugano. Apart from the famous cities what does Tuscany have to offer? We like beautiful scenery with mountains, small picturesque villages and lakes. We are not really into big cities. We prefer France out of everywhere on the Continent but feel we should perhaps try Tuscany. What advice and tips can anyone give? Thanks.

Thanks for that. I'm still not convinced tho' and it looks like nobody else is that interested either! We'll go the Trentino/Alto Adige and take stock there. Alan
