My Passport is either up for renewal or run out, I really should check but we have no plans to travel outside the UK next year ,we have booked all our CC sites already for the year and we WILL turn up. Is it worth getting a new passport ? Lets be honest cost comes into everything and as I will not be needing a passport I could wait and save, but does anyone know of any huge price rises planned and what are the plans for the ID cards added ? These are something I am totally against , I have NOT done anything wrong but I would really resent having to prove who I am to some power mad jobs worth on their demand.

I agree with your point, however, the downside is that if you decide at the last minute to 'pop off' somewhere abroad then you cannot just do that.

As for ID cards there has been no information as yet that states that other countries will accept them in place of a Passport. It may be agreed within Europe, as that is now the state to which we all belong, without us ever getting the chance to vote on it. But outside Europe a Passport will still be required so I suspect we will end up, having both, and of course paying heavily for both. What else would you expect from the misery 'Maggie Broon'?

In my opinion, the longer you wait the more you'll have to pay, and if ID cards are brought in as a 'voluntary' option when you apply for a passport, then it's likely to cost you an arm and a leg.

If you want the freedom to go overseas at any time (even if you've nothing planned) then I think I'd play safe, and save yourself from the clutches of the ID card machine for at least ten years!!

Hi,as far as i am aware you need to provide your passport even if you make internal flights within the u.k.HTH.
