Hi, When on the move we have set-up mobile broadband via my laptop and my wife's iPAD, we do not always take the bigger/heavier laptop with us. With both we selected "Orange" pay as you go, we have a free sim card inserted in the iPAD and bought a Huawei E1752 Dongle for the laptop, both pick up 3G but coverage is still a little sketchy so sometimes you do have to revert to a slower 2G signal. We opted for Orange as they offer a true PAYG, so apart from buying the dongle there is no cost until you use their network, ideal for months when you are not travelling. When you do use their 3/2G network it works out at 5p per Mg so 100mg usage costs you £5. You also have the option to move to their monthly contract where you pay £5pcm by DD, you then get 250mg per month with every addl Mg costing 5p. So if you are out and about every month then the monthly contract might be a better option, you can always give them 30 days notice and revert back to their PAYG and pay nothing if not travelling. Hope that helps, certainly works for us and if you are careful with what you do you can read/send emails etc.. without using too much data, certainly works out cheaper than using campsite wifi and you can access the network from the comfort of your motorhome. We still look out for and use high street free wi-fi whilst having a drink or a meal and when abroad, if available use the campsite's free wifi instead.
