can't find any old threads on this siite doing asearch.

Looks like we'll have to go as the children are doing a training camp here for martial arts gradings. Will be bank holiday end of May - £120 for three nights...can't be right ?

Any words of wisdom from forum users.

We went to Wild Duck last year and were not very impressed with the touring area. The pitches are a bit haphazardly set out under the trees . We were not happy with our pitch but chap on quadbike had scooted quickly off before we could ask if there were any better pitches. Turned out a good choice though, it rained non-stop for two days and the pitches under the trees were flooded. The awnings were soaked etc. We were Ok up on our little bank by the Shower block.

Apart from that, its got the usual Haven facilities, Club House, shop, shower block was OK.

I think its too expensive as they charge the same as Kiln Park in Wales but the touring area is not anywhere near as good. I think Kiln Park is too expensive as well but at least you are not all crammed tightly in under and between trees and its next to a lovely beach.

We would not go there again but probably more because of the area Wild duck is situated in, by Great Yarmouth. It was our first time on that side of the country so we were really choosing blind when we picked a campsite. We found that we liked North Norfolk better and would go up by Cromer if we go that way again.

We went to Wild Duck about two years ago. We had one of the pitches under the trees and it rained....and rained.

Rather rough and ready, pitches higgledy piggledy. Loads of kids running around in wellies and short skirts, screaming, playing ball games, covered in mud. We couldn't resist taking a photo of our neighbours awning, about three sizes too small and staying up on a wing and a prayer. Nevertheless it catered for the masses huddled around a gas fire until about 4am, chatting and playing music... allegedly there is a security guard but we never saw evidence of that.

You could not get a seat in the clubhouse for love nor money and it was extremely dark and at that time very smokey.

Not our cup of tea at all. My mum and dad were on a little site not a mile away, but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it. it can't be very hard to locate if you try. Very pleasant, short grass, very clean toilet block and showers. Very much cheaper and a lot nicer.

I've been trying to think of something nice about Wild Duck to give a balanced evaluation.........nope, it just won't come.
