Will I damage battery or charger

Just finished extending the drive down side of house to store the van, obviously fitted electric point, my question is am I OK to leave the electric connected all the time without damaging either the battery or charger

thanks Tony

......I store my van by my house and have an electrical supply but is is always turned off except when I need to use it.
This may be to charge the battery or pre cool the fridge before a trip.
The supply is protected by a Residual Current Circuit Breaker but I still think it is safer to turn the supply off.....meddling hands and all that!

I also don't like to think I could be supplying the power to a thieves grinder to aid them to remove my security devices!

That is a very intersting point, one that I have never thought of. I have an external 240v socket on my van,as you say very handy for running power tools to remove hitch lock and wheel clamps.
I will have to look at fitting an isolation switch to the inside of the van.

I would never leave a battery on charge for long periodes of time unless you are using a trickle charger. This protects against overcharging which damages the battery.

These are also used for when cars are put into storage.
