Will my Waterline (and other things) get stolen on site?

I have recently bought a Truma UltraFlow Waterline - the kind of hose that connects the caravans water supply directly to the mains. I was wondering, as this bit of kit can cost up to £70 (thankfully Discover were doing a deal and I got it for £50), will it get stolen on site?

If so, is there anyway to secure it to the caravan so I do not have to detatch it every time I leave a site?

Do people have much exerience of things being stolen whilst on sites?

cheers,

Bj

I believe that there is a device that 'locks' a water pump in-situ, so that might work for your Waterline.

I must admit, I had to read the announcement of the pump lock twice because it seemed inconceivable that people would go around stealing submersible pumps - but, apparently, they do.

I've also been told that another favourite item for the snaffler's is the Truma water inlet flap! (not to mention other more obvious candidates for larceny like an Aquaroll & Wastemaster)

We've never experienced any of this sort of Scrotery - probably due to the fact that we never use commercial camp sites.

The true value of CC/CCC weekend rallies & temporary holiday sites lies in the fact that your stuff is usually safe, even if left out in the open.

However, these venues seldom offer more than a single tap, so a fancy gadget like a Waterline would be surplus to requirements ;)

We stayed at Seaview ,the Haven site at weymouth and nothing was stolen. We used a hose to fill the aquaroll from the full service pitch's tap and always left it out.We still have it to prove this as well :)

Mya dad started caravanning in 1953, My wife and I in 1995. The only thing we've ever had nicked was our step when I left it outside at our storage site. The only thing I secure (apart from the 'van) is the 2 aquarolls and wastemaster with small extending reels with combi' locks from halfords. They could be cut with croppers but it's a deterrant. I've got to say though, on a CC site I don't bother!
