Except many of us stare at running out of time, best IMO to have benefitted from your endeavours whilst you can. Or the care home owners, or taxman will be delighted. 😉
A care home without nursing care and not including extras such as outside visits, transport and attendance at hospital etc is £6300 per month ( 4 weeks)) for my BIL. He is now approaching his third anniversary in the home.

Yes, but plus the specific nursing needs, I am staring at in the face, that at a quoted £10,800 makes your very attractive.:coldsweat:
It will quickly solve our investment deliberations!

Yes but with prostate cancer, serious cardiac issues and Parkinson’s we will have to move him if nursing care is required and he will face such costs. I wonder where the Oven Ready Social care provision has gone. Same place as the 40 hospitals and 8 nuclear power stations by 2030. ☹️

Makes a great disincentive of stiving throughout life to be self funding and achieving.

We should have stayed and accepted one of the several overseas employment opportunities I was offered over the years.
Been my firm advice to my sons now for some years.

How did this go from wind turbines to savings? Surely besides the wind turbine reducing your bill, it will also blow away any savings? 🤣

Your state pension, and possibly your private pension, will go up each year by inflation or more - but if you take out the full annual interest from your ISA you're reducing the real value of your investment - and therefore the real value of future interest.
Private pension is fixed 🫣
As for devaluing my investment it doesn't matter, I am already digging into the capital to fund our life. On present calculations it will last until we are both over 90, if we live that long, there are no pockets in a shroud.
