Window condensation plugs - help!

While trying to remove the little condensation plugs in the window of my Swift Challenger, the little plugs have somehow ended up falling down inside the gap between the window panels (ie. inside the double glazing)! Any ideas as to how on earth to get them out?

Emmy, try some stiffish wire with some superglue on the end. Try and "Fish" them out, but be careful not to get the glue on the windows, only use a small amount, BAZZ.

Use the wire first to get the plug nearer the holes, Bazz.

Emmy, note sure if you will get them out, due to the size and shape of the gromits which have to come back through the small hole.

Try using a powerful cleaner with a tight or a stocking on the end, the suction might pick them up.

If this does not work you can buy new gromits in most caravan shops.

Hope this helps

Hello Emmy

I would leave the plugs where they are. You won't be able to see them from inside the van (or outside for that matter). Purchase a packet of new ones and be extra careful when removing next time.

If you decide to 'go in' with wire, take care you don't cause further damage to the window itself. They are easily scratched and I doubt you would want that as a constant reminder.
