Window Seperation

I think this post is in the right section.....
After coming back from 2weeks away I've noticed that one of our windows has seperated, ie the inner glazing unit has all but at the top come away from the outer glazing unit, how can I repair this as I don't really want to replace the window because of the Cris stamp, I was thinking of taking the window out, making sure there's no damp and using either a bonding adhesive or something like an a Silicone sealent? How would you guys tackle it or should I really be going to a rip off dealer and having them do it?

Hi..........As the windows on your caravan are safety critical, we would not recommend the glueing route. There have been 3 posts on Swift Talk in the past two weeks, showing illustrations of the manufactring fault, one gives a graphic account of delamination at speed on a relatively new caravan. There would be insurance complications if you attempt a repair. We have contacted the window manufacturer and caravan manufacturers on this subject and we are waiting a response. Burstner who had the same problem with the same window manufacturer ended up recalling their product and we would expect, considering the numbers involved a similar action by the caravan manufacturers. It would be interesting, if you posted your problem on Swift Talk to see what the response was...............regards Andrew

Andrew I dont want to hijack this post but Ive got the problem with the two panels touching ( I have e-mailed you),I have a letter from the caravan manufacturer saying that it is not a safety issue.

Hi.............we thought that until we received a number of recent reports that these windows have delaminated, the difficulty at the moment is that there two distinct design faults with the windows, one is what Scotch Lad calls, 'a bit thin on the plastic'...there have now been two modifications,the original mk1,a mark 2 and a mark 3.......the reports we have, refer to the mark1&2.....if an owner doesn't notice the fault, the manufactureres have not laid down a recall, it is likely that one of these will delaminate at speed on a motorway and could cause a serious accident.
The other design fault affects all british manufacturers using the window as fitted by Burstner. Unlike Burstner there has not been a recall registered with VOSA. These windows pose a very serious safety risk. We have had reports that the uk window agents have suggested glueing these windows together.
We have contacted the window manufacturer and the caravan manufactureres, but they have remained silent up to now......surely if they think this is not a major problem, we would have received a denial .....we know the manufactureres read these forums.......thankyou for your comments..if you have the correspondence at hand that you have from the manufacturer and are happy to email it............regards Andrew

I ALSO HAVE HAD A SIMULAR PROBLEM WITH ONLY 5 HOURS OF TOW TIME WITH MY BRAND NEW SPRITE MUSKETEER.THE GLAZE LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HAS SPRAYED THE TWO INTERNAL GLAZE PIECES WITH WHITE PAINT.MY DEALER HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL AND ORDERED ME A REPLACEMENT WHICH ONLY TOOK A FEW DAYS TO ARRIVE! HE TOLD ME THE MARKS ARE FROM THE TWO PANELS RUBBING TOGETHER CAUSED BY AIR SWEEPING OFF THE REAR OF MY CAR (RENUALT SCENIC) .SO WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE LONG TERM BUY A DIFFERENT CAR? KEEP MAKING A 340 MILE ROUND TRIP EVERY FEW MONTHS? AT WHO'S EXPENSE?
