Anyone watching these? Is it me or are winter sports The most boring to watch. I am sure that they must be exhilarating to do, but watching them going down the run on the Luge or Skeleton one at a time shoving a thousandth of a second off each other's time is just mind numbing. At the moment there are blokes on skis sliding down rails and doing helicopter type jumps in the the air. The commentators are going, "this is so tense" ( no it's not) and "there's a 360" ( I don't care) The only excitement in watching is when someone falls on their bum. Which is rather mean spirited of me when these folks have devoted their lives to their sport.
The curling is alright I suppose, at least you can see who is winning.
Roll on the cricket season.

I've watched a a bit of it but not that much to, always skiing that's on I worked and had the chance to be down at the 2o12 Olympics in London bus driving for the paparazzi and for the games and competitors . I managed to get into Earls Court every night and watch the women's volleyball . I was down there for six weeks, it was great, once in a lifetime kind of thing because it won't happen again probably .

If I can't do it, I don't watch it. That just leaves me some decidedly dodgy stuff on Channel 4. I think we'll get the table skittles out later instead of the scrabble board.

If you want boring then spend three months with no windows, no tv etc. I enjoy watching them and regret that when I lived in Canada my cross country, downhill skiing and curling were rubbish. Lack of skill and surfeit of drink were contributing factors.

Sounds like another oil related worker.
I worked in the Himalayas for a couple of years, rocks mountains and more rocks. Dreamt of a bar with peanuts on it.

No. Oil workers know where they are.

Never been able to understand it. -- "Why would you pay good money to go and stand and live in all that white stuff and freeze your bits off, when we hate it when the same white stuff lands on this country?"

As we have been forecast the beast from the east weather front from the end of Feb and well into March, just in time for our first trip, my version of the Olympics will be getting the awning up.
