You can just leave the toilet cassette in its place or on the washroom floor with the trap open. If it's been washed properly it won't smell.

If you have room in the house for the cushions, then a good place is in a spare room or under a bed if there is space. They make handy temporary beds for Christmas guests too.

It's always best to lift the van and put the wheels in a garage or shed. Use axle stands or winter wheels. This is also a further anti-theft measure. Leaving a caravan sitting on its wheels in the same position for more than a month is not a good idea, and should be avoided if possible. If you can't avoid it, then overinflate the tyres to make them firmer, and try to move the van a foot or so every month.

Some people put a plastic bag over the brake drums. It's a good idea to spin the drums every week or so to keep the bearings greased and protect them from rust.

Hi Andrew, check with your insurance provider before removing the wheels. Some of them say " No wheels, no wheel clamps, no security, no insurance". You can leave them on, but you will need to move the caravan slightly on a regular basis to prevent the tyres from deforming. Once a fortnight should be enough.
