Pump tyres up to their maximum inflation pressure
Don't go around with Sheen/Pledge they will encourage mould.
If possible remove soft furnishings, although we never did as the storage becomes an issue. So I just lift them away from the lounge seats, put some wood under the bed base to allow it to ventilate, Let the bed or lounge lockers air. Pull down the front doors (if fitted) to front seat and any under lockers. Basically its just to allow good circulation of air. Our vans resemble a place where an "explosion" may have occurred when everything is jumbled around in order to improve air circulation.
Do not screen windows with the spring assisted blinds as this will weaken the springs. Close the curtains to protect upholstery from the sun! (Fine chance in UK winter).
Wash out fridge with bicarb solution, dry and leave door ajar.

You will need to consider your leisure battery too. If you have a solar panel, just leave the battery in the van. If not you will have to visit your van every couple of months, to check its voltage at the very least, and maybe take home for a top up charge. Add a tie on label to remind you when it was last charged (and maybe on your phone too).

If you set an alarm, the battery for this *should* last a few months, but it is kept charged by the leisure battery, so another reason for taking good care of it.

If funds allow, get a solar panel. Its a chore have to go to the battery, disconnect, haul it to the car, home and recharge, then do it all again. And if you do forget, it's new battery which is maybe 2/3 the cost of a solar panel....

We just go away in the caravan, find a site near to a pub and enjoy the walk with the dogs, but drain the water system between trips.。

I'm with you Hutch, my winter prep consists of putting my vest on! Summer clothes out of the van & winter ones in. Shovel in the front locker, skid mats in the boot, insulated water pipe. Gloves, scarves etc. Away next w/e. (Don't have dogs, - so walk the wife!)

Drain toilet flush.........and then run toilet flush pump for 5 seconds to empty it of liquid or it may freeze which will likely destroy it.

Not sure about other models of van but our sinks and shower drains do not have U bends so I buy and use a drainage pipe cleaner from my local caravan supply shop to avoid any nasty niffs
