Wintering in Spain - overnight campsites near Zaragoza

We will be travelling through France and Spain to the med coast early in January. We have campsites booked through France and as far as San Sebastion. Our next preferred stop was Zaragoza, but on checking CC Europe, Carefree, ACSI and searching Google it seems the area is something of a desert for campsites. We only want basic for an overnight (do not want to travel much further than 200 miles per day as we only have one driver). We have decided on the slightly longer route to miss the mountain passes and Madrid at this time of year but are now struggling. Has anyone got any recommendations or suggestions on how to best manage this?

Try this website, http://users.pandora.be/leo.huybrechts/camp1.htm which gives locations of sites within 15km of main routes. Select 'Sites near the highway', then 'Spain'. This takes you to a page showing the major routes through Spain, and you can look at all the sites along that route, with opening dates, and hopefully find one in the area in which you wish to stay. Site details are given, so that you can check that the site is actually open between the dates you want.

Hope this helps.

Only one I know is south of Zaragoza at Savinan - in CC book under Catalayud. The short cut to la Alumina from the Pamplona to Zaragoza raod is now sort of paved so you can save a few miles.
