Wireless Headphones - Kia Sedona (54 plate)

In our Kia Sedone we have a centurion DVD plaver under the drivers seat with thescreen in the roof The children use th supplied wireless headphones. Recently the headphones have got a lot of background hiss and you can hardly hear the DVD. If you turn up the volume on the head phones the hissing gets louder also.

Any one know the reasons why the hissing exists ???

Kia dealer wants to replace the unit or have it in for fault diagnosis !

Ant offers of advice are welcomed !

Neil, I would ask your dealer to check the supression of the DVD unit as it sounds as if you have noise generated by the engine being picked up as sound. sorry I cannot give a better answer hope the above helps.

I am assuming the wireless headphones have rechargeable batteries, if these have been in since new they would deserve replacing as a first check.

You could also check with wired headphones (or via the audio system?) to rule out the DVD system itself (although there could be a slim chance it could still be a problem with the headphone out circuitry).

My money goes on new rechargeable batteries.
