The western side of the Wirral is certainly the nicer side and much less industrialised than the eastern side. From the Wirral CC site there are nice panaromic views of the Dee Estuary and North Wales (on a nice day!). West Kirby has a nice beach and you can walk out to Hilbre island when the tide goes out, which is around 1 mile from the coast.
If you like golf (and more importantly are allowed to play whilst away!) then there are some cracking course on the Wirral, however some of them may well lighten the wallet quickly.
The Wirral provides good access to Chester and Liverpool and seaside resorts of North Wales are only an hour away.

been there a few times ,there are a few sea view pitches but the chances of getting on a par with winning the lottery, they are usualy queing up outside to come in from 10am ,hoping to grab the sea view pitches.nice site in a nice area, good walking territory being in the country park
