Yesterday I dropped a jar onto my caravan worktop and have made a terrible dent. Does anyone have any good ideas as to repairing it or can they suggest anyone who can repair it. I don,t really want to have to get a new worktop! I am really ****** off! Never mind what the husband said!

Go to a DIY store and buy the kitchen worktop repair kit - it lets you blend the colours into a paste that sets.

Just like the old P38 for cars !!

A number of years ago we had the same misfortune. However, we put a square of small ceramic tiles over it, which not only covered over the damage, but also gave a useful place for standing hot items (oven dishes etc).

The other option, depending upon how much damage there is would be to use a wood filler.

A few years ago I also dropped a can of beans onto the work surface. As the van was of a ripe age I cured the problem by getting him in doors to fix a ceramic tile into the damaged area. This gave me a very useful stand for anything hot. I now miss that vital piece of equipment and wish that current manufacturers would include such an item.

We had a dent in our worktop, caused by going over a very large speed bump,it dislodged the plastic tea cady never repaired it, we covered the area where the bump was , with a large plastic mat, when we traded the van showed the in the dealer his comments I have seen worse than that.Everthing in the van is made of lightweight material, even the floors are made of the same material as the external sides with foam between the two external surfaces.

We had a similar experience last year on our 12 month old Swift Coastline. My wife was devastated but we claimed on our insurance and a replacement worktop was fitted - at a cost of nearly

Hi. I think it depends how old your van is and how fussy you are. I had an accident and ended up with a small hole and a dent around it. Because it was a new van and I am fussy I wanted a repair that would not be seen by me every time i went in the van. I used plastic surgeon and the repair is undetectable unless you go hunting for it. In my case I emailed pictures to them and they came back with a price. As I said it all depeds what you are happy with and how easy it will be to match it doing a DIY job.
