Can anyone recommend some sites for touring the 1st World War battlefields. Last year we stayed in Peronne but this year we are planning to visit West Flanders and around Ieper.
 
Blaarmeersen, the municipal site at Ghent is a good base for Belgian WW1 sites. Note there are no municipal sites in Lille if you fell that is better suited.
