Thanks goodness it is over. Makes us wonder what other tripe and they are going to inflict on us. What a waste of viewing time! As bad as that other nonsense "Get me out of there".

Now come on LB stop being a misery, I thought the constant screaming of the female population, is something that you look forward to in your Royal position .

I agree too, also lets add Big Brother to the list.

(Casualty can be removed though).

Lisa

Oh, and Jeremy Kyle, he should really be at the top of the list.

Of course the X factor is reality tv and not to be taken too seriously but I have to say that I prefer watching it to having some snotty sneering git who is supposed to be a comedian but isn't funny swearing at us in our living room on a Saturday night through our tele.

At least families can watch it together and although it's contrived at least it gives somebody a shot at the big time.

Good luck to the lads who were in the final and congratulations to the winner, I hope that they both do well. It's got to be better than clocking in on an early shift or driving artics up and down the motorway.

Hey, leave our Jez alone :O(

I must admit he's gone on the back burner though since Her Ladyship finished work. And so has my afternoon siesta :O(

I've never managed to comprehend the entertainment factor of Big Brother, and taking a bunch of has been celebs or those you simply haven't heard of and putting them in a jungle, dance floor or ice rink etc similarly eludes me, but X factor, whilst frequently irritating, is quite fascinating, where a life can be transformed almost overnight from student / office worker to an international star by using a genuine talent. I just hope Joe copes with what he has acheived, he looked like a rabbit in the headlights, he certainly had the best voice as a recording artist, along with Stacey, Olly perhaps would not make such a good recording artist but with his stage presence he would blast the others into the ground in a west end musical.

Wasn't Stacey like a southern Jane Horrocks! how can someone that talks like that, sing so well!!!

seems that theres a mixed reaction tae the X factor from you.

reality tv show ?, nope. big brother and the jungle nonsense are that, pure minging wi a bunch o has beens as the cast, who's next, the cast from watership down, or Bambi. pure and utter garbage taking up prime tv time.

however, the X factor at least provides us with contestants who are just like you and i, all jock thamsons bairns who have the opportunity tae taste the limelight. they also give a good few weeks entertainment to us all as they each give their best shot. best o luck tae the winners, and also to them all who made it through to the latter stages, this years was really tough to call.

as for the post above comparing it with big brother, cmon get a grip.

It is a piece of reality tv although better than Big Brother and the rest of it.

Don't forget that nothing on tv is as it appears ;0)

Joe who won it was pitch perfect and his voice reminds me very much of Neil Sedaka.

At least Joe can sing and will be rewarded for his talent.

As for Big Brother and Get me out of here... the nearest dustbin will do nicely, worse than watching paint dry.

Cheers

It is a v ery sad state of affairs where you have to pay to watch a cheap reality show and pay again to cast a vote. IMHO why don't they have it on during the afternoon when we are all out. I dislike these cheap nasty reality shows as being a waste of my money as I have to pay for the TV licence.

Unfortunately many of the programmes are driven by the "ratings war" rather than the quality. I must admit I quite enjoyed X factor even though it gets a bit drawn out at times. But some of the other reality shows tend to get boring.
