Hi all,
we have been planning our holidays since easter but what happened you couldnt make up.
Finished work on friday and went to get the van from storage to put outside the house ready to pack and set off early on saturday.
whilst the wife finished packing the van i went to blow up the tyres at the garage. When i came back i went to put the van on the car and the brake pedal hit the floor a brake cylinder had gone rang round but couldnt get 1 till dinner time the bro-in-law came from 30 mile away to help me as we were going away with them.
Eventually goy away at 2 when we should have been getting there and met the bro-in-law at a service statiom 30 miles down the road we arrived 1st when he arrived his car temp was 110 degrees so he rand the RAC they told him it was his head but he said no chance and we set off again for a grand total of 5 mile and he was overheating again so we stopped.
He rang his relative back home to come and tow his van home so he could nurse his car back home only for his relative to ring 5 minutes later to say his clutch cable has snapped.
The only other option now was for me to take my van home and go back and collect his and take him home and then set back off in the morning so thats what we did.
I parked his van outside his house and parked my car and helped him start his car we had a cup ot tea.
When we can to go home i tried to start my car only for it not to start we ended up on the back of a AA recovery wagon (which we had only joined on friday just in case) to bring us home the car is still outside but it still doesnt start some kind of electrical fault we still havent found bloody thing.
We eventually got away on the tuesday after we both went out and bought another car that was 2 weeks ago and all holiday apart from the last friday it rained typical.
Now were back at work and thinking of going to turkey next year for some sun.
Anyone else had trouble getting away.
M.H.
