Your suggestions as good family sites???

Hi All,

I have two young kids (6 & 7) and we love sites that have large pitches and kids play areas that can be seen from the pitches. Looking at New Forest area, South West, East Anglia.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Steve

River Dart Country Park Ashburton Devon.

Big woodland site with river. Lots for kids to do - playlake with pirate ship, zipwires, spider webs, snake slides, indoor rock climbing (small charge) outdoor pool (free), tennis courts (free) small bar/restaurant. Loads of room for the kids to let off steam (we never saw the kids!) and huge pitches. However some pitches can be sloping (dont let that put you off though and site will be very busy over school hols).

Cant go wrong with this site if your kids are the "outdoors" type though ;-)

Agree with Sandy Balls, in the New Forest but it is probably fully booked now. Try Dower House in Thetford Forest. (www.dowerhouse.co.uk)

Hi Neil,

here's a good site for you and your family -Lytton Lawn Touring Caravan Park,Lymore Lane,Milford-on-Sea.Near Lymington.Hampshire its right on the fringes of the New Forest Ok for children very clean and its owned by the Shorefield group(www.Shorefield.co.uk )have been going there for many years can fully reccomend.Jim

Hi Steve for a good family site in north Norfolk try Searles at Hunstanton. Clean facilities the pitches well kept and the entertainment is excellant. the play area can be seen from the full service pitches on the riverside and washway pitches.

Hi Riverdart Adventures is a lovely site with shed loads to do for kids however looking at the ages of yours you would have to be with them I think, We were there for a week and although it rained it was still a great holiday and we went into Plymouth which was great there are a lot of other activities if it rains out and about. There is also a pool (small). Searles is a lovely site right by the beach, couple of play areas near caravans, fantastic washing facilities, and if it rains loads to do on site including ball pond, swimming pool etc you can even access the internet, entertainment at night (used to have a mobile home there!)

we had a great time at woodlands leisure park at dartmouth very clean site , the cleanest we've ever been on, your parked in groups of about ten vans with your own water ect and get free enterance to the park every day.
