    Help on Italian Toll Roads

Well our Italian Adventure is over, so I thought I should let you know how we got on. We did not get a Pass for the Motorway, and only had one problem in making the payment, when I had not realised that my Credit Card had to be inserted in the same place as the Toll Ticket. The cost of the...

    Help on Italian Toll Roads

Hello Olivegrower, We also went to Dubrovnik last year in September, and we have used ACSI since we started caravanning in 2010. I tried Tolltickets but it seemed very complicated, so decided to suck it and see. I have also since purchased a good quality map of Italy and think we will try...

    Help on Italian Toll Roads

Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I have been on the Forum, but I am now looking for help on the best way to pay when travelling on the Toll Roads in Italy. Is it easy to just pay with a UK Credit Card each time, or is it best to get an Automatic Pass to allow payment at the end of the...

    Visiting Dubrovnik - Possible Problem

I recently completed a Tour down to Dubrovnik, in Croatia. On our return journey I met and spoke to a fellow Brit, who once he realised where we had been, asked me the following question. Did my Car Insurance cover me for the 6 mile stretch of Bosnia Herzogovina that splits Croatia in two? I had...

    Love taking photos on tour?

I have a reasonable DSLR outfit and have taken many pictures during our caravan adventuring around Europe. However during our last 6 week tour, although I took it with me, I never took it out of the bag, and just relied on my mobile. You may ask the reason why, simple no one wants to look at...

    Spare Parts - A Nightmare!

Damian I was in the Woodworking Machinery field and it was generally accepted to supply spares for each model, for up to 10 years after it ceased production. The part I require would I believe have been unchanged for many years, being the black bracket attached to the side wall, over which the...

    Spare Parts - A Nightmare!

All I am asking is for a bracket, so I can screw the broken one off, screw the new one on, and get on my way. However I have to wait for two months, or probably more, then I have to buy the complete bracket assembly, so as mentioned will have my own parts department in my garage. Whilst this...

    Spare Parts - A Nightmare!

Thanks for your response, my van is a 2013, so just 4 years old. From previouse experience when I was working, the normal margins were 300% on parts, so that department usually provided, on paper, good profits, but at what expense. What I failed to mention is that I will have to buy a complete...

    Spare Parts - A Nightmare!

We needed a few spare parts for our Swif Challenger Shower Cabinet and contacted our engineer who is fully credited with Swift. Two Months later we are due to leave for our Autum tour, over 6 weeks, of France and they are still waiting to receive the parts. I know there have been many posts on...

    Status 570 TV antenna

On my many trips to Calais, I have never knowingly been checked for height or length, so unless someone can tell me differenty, just get on with it.

    Caravan satellite alignment

I have an 85cm dish and the Humax Freesat Decoder and was able to get a signal down to just north of the Dordogne. This does vary depending on the surrounding terrain, we got a good signal in Rumilly which is between Aix le Bains & Annecy.

    Caravan satellite alignment

Try the SatFinder Lite app on your phone, it show all the satellites up there, and its free. Astra is at 28.5degrees and all you have to do is line it up with the + on the app and you know exactly where it is. I also use the Horizon Nanosat DSM-4S Digital Satellite Finder which is pre set for...

    Farewell ND

I met Nigel on the Practical Caravan Rally to the Loire about 6 years ago, he was very friendly and knowlegeable and his love of caravanning was obvious. I also wish him well in his new situation.

    Motor Movers?

Further to Prof. JohnL comments, I do agree with the comments made, but I am aware that with the older model Powrtouch Movers that they had a bad batch of actuators. This was confirmed to me by one of their engineers who was as you would expect replacing a failed one. It could also be that as...
