    Tree mark

I was once told to use Brasso on window scratches - it does work for minor scratches. For marks on the body have you tried cream cleaner? Be gentle as it can start to get the paint off though.

    Clutch Cable

I've a '96 Ducato to which an incorrect clutch cable was fitted 12 months ago (part number supplied by Fiat who no longer make the cables). I now have a very stiff clutch resulting in 2 broken clutch pedals in the last year. Worse, the new cable was put in with a new clutch - clutch failed and...

In answer to myself - Ricambio found me the right part which is now in and working (touch wood)

How to repair damaged table top

Cut a hole in the underside of the table which let me push the indented part of the top back into place, cut a piece of cork to the right size to hold everything in place then drizzled superglue into the join on the top. Glued the piece I had cut from the bottom back into place (on the cork)...

    Clutch Cable

I have a 1996 Fiat Ducatto base, last year I had a new clutch fitted by a reputable garage which has since gone out of business. Earlier this year I had to have the clutch cable adjusted, which needed repeating last month. The new garage has told me the cable fitted last year was the wrong...

    Pinhead holes in Aluminium

My CI built van dates from the mid 90's and I have had to replace / rebuild the roof as it was developing small (1 or 2 mm diameter) holes. A metallurgist told me they had seen this when part of the aluminium was in contact with raw steel - not sure how true this is. Now similar holes have...

    Overnighting in Patagonia

Tony, I wrote some articles for the magazine a few years ago - would be happy to do so again. How do I go about submitting, how many words these days?

    Overnighting in Patagonia

This is an answer to a question I posted over a year ago - "Has anyone toured Argentina?" Yes, and it is a wonderful country for motorhomes, although they are few and far between. Roads are mostly excellent, scenery is a delight, locals very friendly and the wildlife spectacular. We hired...

    Window Fogging

I have seitz windows dating from 1996 some of which are fogging. In other forums I have seen suggestions that you can remove plugs from the windows and let them dry naturally - my windows have no plugs. Is it possible / sensible to drill holes in the inside skin, run a dehumidifier in the van...

    Water Ingress Spongy Ceiling

I had damp problem with the roof, support timbers rotted, pinholes in the aluminium. Replacement aluminium from Magnum in Grimsby - if you collect make sure you take a big vehicle / trailer as the roll of metal is big. I stripped out all the cross member timbers, the actual roof lining was...

    Water Pressure

I have a 16 year old Fiamma SF 126 pro water pump with low pressure. Turns on and off OK. Can't see anything like a leak in the system nor any suggestions that there are seals to replace. Any suggestions?

    Gunk from Fresh Water Tank

If you can't see any build up of dirt through the inspection lid of the tank, then it might be that a seal within the pump is falling apart - particularly if it has dried out from lack of use.

    Seitz Window Crack

I've got a 1996 van (had from new) - a small crack has appeared in the top curve of the outside of one of the top hinged windows. Price to replace seems to be around £250 plus - it is a big window. Any ideas what the crack can be sealed with or if it is likely to suddenly go right across the...

    Ducato Starter (1996)

Earlier this year I had bad starting problems, it felt like a flat battery, but would not jump start, and after a while smoke started coming from the starter wiring. Breakdown man gave us a tow start having diagnosed a faultystarter. What it turned out to be was the earth cable from the...
