Clutch Cable

I have a 1996 Fiat Ducatto base, last year I had a new clutch fitted by a reputable garage which has since gone out of business.
Earlier this year I had to have the clutch cable adjusted, which needed repeating last month. The new garage has told me the cable fitted last year was the wrong one and the correct one is no linger produced by Fiat.
There seem to be at least 3 different cables available on line - does anyone know how to identify which is correct for my van?
