Travel with a Sun Canopy in Awning Channel

This has happened on our van, minor "dinks" along the ling of the rolled up canopy. Another indication of how thin the side panels are on modern vans.

    Expert advice ????????

The led on our cassette failed a couple of times. Rather than fitting another I mentioned it to the fitter doing the annual service and he told me that he has seen a lot of led failures and he thinks its due to voltage fluctuations. he changed the supply to the led to a couple of AA batteries...

    New TV show

After watching and enjoying the program for a few years I cant get it now because we are on Virgin Media. Would it be possible for it to be available through a link on the website

Fire Danger From Plastic Water Bottles

We have used the bottles for this purpose for many years, but all our awnings have had inside mud wall. On our new Ventura awning the mud walls are on the outside. After I had discovered the cause of the burns I experimented with an old piece of synthetic grass carpet. I laid a couple of the...

    Satellite TV abroad

If only the UK authorities thought the same. I pay a license fee to use satellite TV in the UK but I cant get it abroad because of the footprint change. Just hope the German powers that be don't go down the same line on some spurious reason

    Satellite TV abroad

It's not the fault of the ex-pats that they are not able to pay for a TV licence. A lot of people we meet would be vary happy to pay if they could get the programs. If it was possible to set up some sort of subscription viewing many ex-pats would use it. We see the Germans and Dutch getting all...

Fly back from Spain rally for xmas

We have been doing this, but from Portugal for the last few years. The site we use is very secure and we leave our car on the site as well. i would suggest you try for a discount for the time you are away - you never know. We use Ryanair and we have had no problems with them, abide by their...

    Alde Heating System

We have the Alde system and ours can be a bit slow to heat the water if we are only on No.1 setting. Check that you have it on No.2 or No.3 if you have it. One problem we have is that the "rads" are under the seating and beds and there is not enough flow of air through the back vents to bring...

Fire Danger From Plastic Water Bottles

[ Another one around it is to push a stick into the ground and to place a 2 litre empty plastic bottle over the stick so that the neck is about a foot off the ground. It creates the same effect as in the wind, they move around, the wind can cause a noise from blowing over the neck of the...

    Winding up your stays

A simple way around this problem I have used a number of times is an ordinary socket ratchet wrench. You can also use it to tighten the steady on the awning side when you have a tight draft skirt fitted.

    Decals

Easy enough to remove, warm with a hair dryer, them scrape under them with a credit card. I removed mine with the intention of renewing, but found that I preferred the look of the van without them.

    Hole in worktop!!!

We had the same problem, in our case it was a pull out table on a drawer unit at the front of the van. My solution was to remove the table top and cut an access hole in the bottom surface with a Dremel. This gave access to the damaged area which I was able to push back to more or less level. I...
