    Desperate of Swindon

What Aspenshaw says is spot on, No sense in buying just because the dealer is nearest too you. He may only have a limited selection of models. Even worse, if there is insufficient trade in the area, the dealers long term viability would be risky (& your warranty cover) . Then you finish up...

    leisure battery

Update - if it is the Charger this link may help :- http://www.leisureshopdirect.com/caravan/electric/product_48160/transformer_charger_sargent_px300_replacement_for_nordelectrica_ne143.aspx

    leisure battery

There were problems with the Nordelectronica Control Panels & chargers fitted Swift motorhomes built around this period. Have a look on the SwiftTalk forum. There are a couple of companies regularly posting who capable of repairs to the units. IIRC Sargents (Hull) who now supply Swifts also...

The reason it is called the Leisure industry

Hi again Delana I think it may be a matter of timing, although I agree that some of the dealers can appear to be apathetic This weekend many of the manufacturers have their new models stock at the Lincoln Show. Likewise many dealers will also have taken their Used Stock to that show. Also...

    Desperate of Swindon

Hi Delana. Welcome to the forum A google search should bring up results & nearby counties. Here's a few to give you a starter http://www.wiltshiremotorhomes.com/motorhome-sales.asp www.tilshead-caravans.com/ www.m-d-g.co.uk/ (Dorset) www.kpcleisure.co.uk/...

    Ideal layout

But the Matrix is 7.8m long. Depending on how many berths you require an "A" Class with rear singles & a front dropdown double would widen choice. Example in link below http://www.premiermotorhomesltd.com/motorhome_details.php?mhId=83AF95942B22BA1A80257E7200405AF4#main

Advice or recommendation sought 3 or 4 berth

As an after thought - have a look at the Swift Rio (model with drop down bed) & rear lift tailgate. Burstner & Hymer do similar models. but as all are still relatively new entrants, will be above budget. At least they will give an indication of what is on the market.

Advice or recommendation sought 3 or 4 berth

Hi Ian take you time & look at as many variants as possible. Lincoln show coming up soon is a good place to see lots of motorhome, (if it's practical for you to get there) New & Used on show & usually some discount applied for the show. List what you must have, would like & don't want then you...

Does anyone know where I can buy this

Hi Paul you could try http://www.eltherington.co.uk/stockholding.html They are based in Hull & they used to supply the likes of Swift's + Mobile home manufacturers. They also show some "standard" extrusion profiles on their website. Alternatively google "Aluminium Extruders" to see if...

Convert 3 litre manual to automatic?

Hi JR & welcome to the forum. I can't offer any advise as to feasibility but I would be wary of causing problems with the vehicle warranty if any problems occur subsequent to any retrofit. (The ECU may create the biggest obstacle. It would be worthwhile looking at the Fiat Ducato website to see...

    Quality league table

Hi clutha - Practical Motorhome published the results of their reader survey a while back that will give you some information regarding users experience regarding the "motorhome" manufacturers'. The Fiat v Peugeot reliability issue isn't covered in the survey but the Fiat Ducato , Peugeot Boxer...

Help! Leak somewhere from fresh water

Just a thought = Have you been travelling with full fresh water tank ? If so the movement surge could be sending water up the vent pipe & discharging into the van or directly against the side wall.

    Hello.

Hi Bambam looks like you have a big job on your hands, especially with the size of the RV's. Although the link )Self Build Motor Caravaners Club) mainly relates to conversion of PVC's there is a wealth of knowledge amongst the members. http://sbmcc.co.uk/

    LPG and propane?

Hi Nick Butane will give a slightly higher heat output, but will not "gas" at low temperature. So if you intend to do any winter touring Propane is definitely the way to go. Having said that Autogas (for filling fixed tank or refillable cylinders) is a mixture of Butane & Propane The % of each...
