How many people actually pull over?

Having read the posts here, I must be in the hated camp, lucky and blind because I've never pulled-over, never had a queue a fortnight long at my rear or maybe I need to visit specsavers.I dont buy this malarky about people being held-up all because it was a caravan in front of them, jesus, you...

    reversing caravan

Allan & Gill, I was referring to reversing onto a pitch because the topic was started about burning clutch on reversing.I dont think there should be any problems reversing onto pitches within sites nowadays, after all, vans are 99% of time reversed onto pitches and space allowed for that unless...

    reversing caravan

I fail to see the point about the clutch not made for shunting double its weight backwards, when thats exactly what its doing when going forward.I dont know where this problem arises about shunting with regards to reversing. I always try to reverse from the drivers side which makes it so much...

    Tyron Bands

Hi Tom, I maybe missing something here but wheel rims have humps as your tyre fitter says but having fitted more than a few tyres in my time I can tell you its practically impossible to remove a tyre from a rim, if, after breaking the bead (thats when the machine or bead breaker pushes the tyre...

    Handbrake

I have a trailer fitted with Bradley axles (auto-reverse) and a Bradley coupling, and after unhitching the trailer I apply the handbrake, but it will still move back a couple of inches and then the brake automatically kicks in and the handbrake lever can be seen moving up another notch. Quite...

    Speeding

Hi John L, my reference to speeding is not trying to break land speed records but travelling at a speed which could be just over the 60mph or even more in certain circumstances.Colin-Yorkshire hits my point on the head with regards to a stable unit being towed above 60mph. I will not sit in the...

Oh dear, I like wind-ups the same as the next guy, but this has to take the biscuit.Bring back JC at least we get a laugh with him

    Speeding

I drive at a speed that keeps me faster than trucks because I find it a lot easier to pass them than the other way round, as some of their overtaking takes a while to complete. I also believe that anyone travelling faster than me in the middle lane has the option of using the outside lane(unless...

    indicator buzzer

I've had tow-bars fitted to my last 2 shoguns and 1 fitted to a VW golf in recent years and none have had a warning buzzer.I asked at the time at both networks and was told it is not a legal requirement and any fault will show in the flasher speed.

    Question on premium diesel fuels...

Jazzman,I'm with you on this one.I tried the BP ultimate for 3 fill-ups on the trot travelling the same roads around my area with no jaunts out of the ordinary, and got the same figures 3 times running even with the low fuel warning light on to scrape as much as I could and the max was 435...

    Handbrake

Kenneth, years ago couplings/hitches had no auto reverse facility and the brakes were applied when reversing unless a lever was flicked into place to stop the coupling head moving back, but modern technology has brought us the aforementioned auto-reverse system which eliminated that, and as...

    children on caravan club sites

The Plotter, please note this topic is about children on CC sites as the heading suggests.I think its fair to say that things have come a long way since our days of playing the part of "just being children" and not always for the better sadly.Caravanning is not exempt from changes within the...

    towing in 4x4 or 2x4

Hi Mark, I dont know about your pajero, but my last two shoguns had a warning sticker on the drivers door and in the handbook stating 4wd when towing. I know on the pajero owners website this topic is raised often but the majority tow in 2wd. I do as the book says and use 4wd.

    Towbar for Mitsubishi Shogun

I have a 2005 shogun with the warrior wheels fitted, and tow-bar fitted at Mitsubishi dealer, which extends far enough out to enable clearance of the wider spare with the use of the handle modification for the alko hitch without the need to open the rear door or hitch up at an angle as some have...
