Just checked that web site for our car(see skoda 1.9d 4x4 thread) and the information is wrong for our car. We have a towsafe report, v5 & the technical information that contradict it so you may want to check with the manufacturer

06:33 PM Just double checked on the techinal information in the handbook and the v5 both state maximum towing capicity is 1600kg. A lot of the information available is based on the old shape 4x4 as the new one only came out about 7 months ago. Trust this helps

Check the thread about the 4x4 octavia it is same as the golf/leon but got the second generation haldex clutch system and can be had for 16k new
