    Eriba caravan registration

Hi fishcultureman, We have an Eriba (2004 Puck 120GT) and like you we bought ours privately four years ago now. We too tried going down the route of CRIS but found it would take time for them to investigate the vans origins and for them to create a recognised CRIS number (i think if i remember...

    Mobile phone law

I completely agree with the new penalty :) . There is no excuse for using a mobile phone whilst driving. With technology so advanced in today's vehicles "if you have to" why not use the hands-free facility linked into the vehicles audio unit? Failing that turn your phone off or put it away where...

    Driving observations

Not as strange as it seems, my MOT test station checks the oil dipstick. I've been there and seen him do it! When I question why, his response was "you don't do many miles in your car do you" ........LOL. Of course I don't assume all test station do this but it's a road safety check and "having...

    Breakdown warning lights.

Hi All, i'm looking for some clarification and if there is anyone else out there that uses any of the various different makes of "roadside warning beacons" on the market; in the event of a roadside emergency or breakdown. I understand and am compliant with the "The Road Vehicles Lighting...

    Eriba BIP charging update.

Thanks for the advice Damian. First post was not 100% clear. The existing unit unfortunately doesn't have an RCBO as the main breaker  this needs replacing ! So much safer. ;) Others after that are MCB's yes; but very dated. I'll get in touch with Paul.

    Eriba BIP charging update.

Hi all, season almost coming to an end (1 or 2 trips pending.) It's become apparent that our original charging system in the BIP electronics unit are not working. I've done some research and so far reached the conclusion that old MCB's need updating to RCBO's and the old charging unit needs...

    Awning Light 240/12v

Thanks eribanaut! This makes sense, is this because the van is of a foreign make. If I wasn't clear with my first posting; regardless whether we are coupled up to the car or not our awning light doesn't work. As soon as I connect the EHU lead and turn on the awning light switch inside the van...

    Awning Light 240/12v

I'm hopeing the forum boffins will be able to exlain this. Our awning light doesn't work unless we are connected to EH. But the thing is; the light is not powered from the EH it's powered from the on board 12v battery. Why? Are all awning lights wired in this way?

    Tyre Pressures

Hi All, Using the same topic rather than start a new. We are using our van shortly and I was checking the van after being stored for 3 months. Just one of many checks was to check the tyre pressures. Running tryes had dropped by a few Psi (van stored on axle stands). When I release the spare...

    What to buy?!

Hi Allison, Welcome to a new world! We bought a second hand (2004 Eriba puck 120GT). It was also our first caravan, but at just under 7K private (8.5K dealer) it took us over 12months to find one in the right condition that we were looking for (i'm quite fastidious). We also bought it off a...

To Heat or Not To Heat

Not to Heat!............ B) Who has money to burn? Think of your bank Manager and the environmet! :) There are other ways of keeping the damp at bay apart from turning up the heat. Having any unattended electrical appliance runnng 24/7 is an obvious potential fire risk, :woohoo: In addition...
