My friend went to a local caravan dealer today to buy a pump up awning.
He was advised that this type of awning is not suitable for seasonal pitches.
He usually puts up the awning and leaves it up from April to September when the caravan is winter stored.
Has anyone any experience of such...
I am thinking of using a few more sites without mains electric next season and perhaps getting a small generator to power lights, fridge and tv.
What size generator would I need and does anyone have any recommendations on a make please?
Sorry it's the way I posted the thread.
Everything else passed during the service except this ohm problem. Seems when he checked the earth continuity from hook in point to 240 sockets is where he found a problem. So the problem lies somewhere in the caravan circuit.

Thanks to all respondents
Have now more info. The problem lies between EHU input socket and 240 v sockets. I suspect terminals are corroded on EHU input socket.
I have just had my caravan serviced by an engineer who is MCEA certified. It passed but he noted the following:
"240v sockets reading 10 Ohms on Earth, should be 0.5."
I haven't had chance to speak to him yet but what does this mean and is it a problem?
What is the likely cause of this and...
Quick wheel clamp
Can anyone recommend a quick and easy and reasonably priced wheel clamp?
Something I could use when parking up in motorway services especially on the Continent.
I have a Centurian Sold Secure clamp but it takes ages to put on and take off and that isn't easy.
Thanks for response. I'm not too worried about the mover motors it's the cross member and cross actuator tube that goes across the van that seems low to me.
Just think it might scag on some hidden obstacle or damned speed hump!
Many thanks for responses. I have contacted Purpleline for advice so we will see what happens.
Mine is fitted to the rear of the wheels and to be honest works very well very impressed too with fitment and fitter - just worried about the low ground clearance.
There's a clearance of 145mm.
The caravan is currently unloaded and tyre pressures up for storage. When I load up and adjust tyre pressures to go touring then this will lower the chassis of the caravan and consequently the mover cross beam.
I don't think the height of the movers can be...
I have just had a mover fitted to my van - an Enduro from Purpleline. It works very well but I am concerned about the amount if ground clearance there now is for the cross member.
My caravan needed dropper plates and has 15" wheels so the mover drive roller centres on the tyre. It looks okay...
Thanks to all who responded. I can vent my battery outside the van with tubing provided by the battery supplier.
Caravan "buffs" tell me this is unsafe??
I fail to see the difference between this and a motorhome battery mounted in living area and vented with a tube. The battery won't be...
