    Phil's holiday and mine.

We are off to the Loire tonight, vans loaded and the kids collected that we are taking with us. Now if Phil wanted to join us or I'd bought Phil's new van one of us would not be going. Despite listening to the Mods advice the 2nd thread re Phils van has been canned in the trash can even though...

Have you tried Brake & Clutch cleaning spray on your creaking...

I use that cleaner for all sorts, from grease on the awning fabric followed by a quick wash off to cleaning plastic lawn mower carb and removing graphics glue on GRP. Well worth trying as it is OK on brake pads it should be OK on similiar friction pads of the stabiliser.

    Swift sevice is great

Good. Hate to worry people, our old van was a changeover period from plain painted steel to galavanised I was told. The A frame cowling held water and the top of the frame was just rust, out of sight of servicing eyes! Boat builder Uncle has repaired three caravans. Stainless or Brass boat...

    Swift sevice is great

Stephen we had a simliar Swift of that sort of vintage and it was a fine van and did many many trips. Ours was one of the last on a chassis that was not Galvanised. If you have a Galvanised Chassis no worries. If not, remove the A frame coverings and check out for missing paint and rust rather...

    Terrorist Threat

Sad to say that your words will fall on deaf ears with such people Clive. I'll bet a kings ransome that they believe they are the chosen race, creed or religeon and the the rest of us are failed souls beyond help and not worthy of humanitarian reasoning.

    Terrorist Threat

Comm's services have been under obvious pressure today. Is it any wonder with roads blocked and arrests to be made etc plus the international implications and communication needs. He may have fun getting back as there are going to be some big changes we hear. Thank god for the mobile.

    Terrorist Threat

Through are works system we see various "reports". One such reports links these threats to some middle aged and retired white "English" caravanners out for revenge re blame for global warming and scaremongering re Chelsea Tractors compared to Airline Pollution. Another , technically brilliant...

The saga of French gassing attacks

We've only ever stopped where there are plenty of others stopping. My point was that there are actually thousands that stop on roads and pull ins every night in Europe and the UK. Try searching the net for details re these gas attacks on Caravanners. For something that gets so much concern it...

    New proposed car tax bands

You forgot the duty tax you paid on the car as well Frank and the tax and vat on the fuel that you had to put in it as well. Tax was probably over 10 grand .

    New proposed car tax bands

Communications Engineering is my job Clive and without roads and 4 wheel drives and the car in general my business would be somewhat restricted. The whole comms business infact would be a lesser force withut roads and road users. As soon as we have wi'fi in cars etc the better for the likes of...

    Booking in early at Dover

Providing you are prepared to wait, you are likely to be put on an earlier ferry. If you are paying for a cheaper time slot and arrive especting to get an earlier ferry you will either wait or be asked to pay. 3 weeks ago my brother in law arrived at Dover three hours early as he had a straight...

WORLD SPEED RECORD FOR CARAVAN ONTHE M1 TODAY IN LEICESTERSHIRE

Well firstly you are as guilty as he, as you broke the limit out of curiosity. It would only be right to name and shame re your own plate as well ! Have seen twin axle towa van heavier than a caravan towed at over 90 mph on a UK motorway and the driver was going to the same place as me and...

    missing jack

When we trade our van in again we know what will transfer to the new van and things such as battery, jack and spare wheel will be part of the deal or the dealer gets short shrift. We try and sell privately and do a cash deal for new, but ontrad in we fix the best deal before we agree what...
